Dnmarkiyh recent study showed that women who take vitamins on a regular basis all the time, not less vulnerable to the risk of premature birth or low birth weight have children.
The study included nearly 36 thousand pregnant women were asked about diet and weight and Itbanh and vitamins intake regularly.
This study examined the use of various vitamins in the period of pregnancy (four weeks before the last menstrual period, and eight weeks later, a period that has not been extensively studied before).
Among the women who took vitamins for a period of at least 8 weeks there was a 4.3% case of premature birth, before 37 weeks, while women who did not take these vitamin supplements has increased the ratio to reach 5.3%, as was proven that taking vitamins in the reduces the period from birth to underweight children.
And these percentages remained the same even after taking into account other factors such as diet and smoking, and the reasons are not clear, but it may be associated with problems absorbing nutrients, as suggested by researcher Janet Kattouf from the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
However, the researcher did not recommend that women start taking vitamins when trying to conceive, first, because the women who were taking such vitamins in good health, and thus are difficult to neutralize this factor in the study, and secondly there is a paucity of studies that tested the effects of taking these vitamins on the health of children .
This study and work to strengthen this link, but it did not prove that taking vitamins is a good idea for women who are planning a pregnancy or already pregnant women.
The American health experts advised mothers not to take vitamins on a regular basis for the possibility of causing a bad effect on embryos, but they recommend mothers eating a diet rich in folic acid, which works to reduce the risk of fetal defects.
There is a belief that the poor nutrition of the woman plays a role in pregnancy complications such as premature birth and poor growth rates of the fetus in the uterus.
