A new study found that about half the injuries cancers caused by unhealthy lifestyle can be avoided by giving up smoking, weight reduction, physical activity and reduce the intake of alcohol, for example.
Cancer Research Foundation discovered the British in the most comprehensive study of its kind that about 134 000 cancer each year are the result of an unhealthy lifestyle.

The study showed that 14 workers related to lifestyle, from smoking to a lack of physical exercise and salt intake a lot and not having children and excessive alcohol intake and weight gain above the acceptable limit, contribute to 40 percent of the total cancer cases diagnosed each year in Britain.
The researchers said the findings refuted the claim that cancer is a "misfortune" or "bad luck" or for genetic reasons. Previous studies indicated that about 80 000 cancer per year could be prevented, but it did not take into account the occupational hazards such as exposure to asbestos and infections that can cause cancer and sunburned, all covered in the study of new factors into account.

In a complex of research scientists were able to calculate the number and types of cancers that can be attributed to one of the fourteen factors related to lifestyle. Smoking was the biggest factors causing about 20 percent of the total cancer cases.

But the president of the British Herbal Cancer Research Kumar said that the majority of people do not know that 25 percent of cancer cases can be prevented with about 50 percent of cancers of the colon. Quoted Daily Telegraph reported that Kumar to follow a healthy lifestyle does not guarantee not to cancer but increase the likelihood bound by it to avoid injury by a large margin.
The study found that alcohol was responsible for 6.4 percent of breast cancers and about 10 percent of cancers of the liver. And can avoid the 75 percent of cancers of the stomach quit smoking, reduce salt and multiplication of fruits and vegetables.
And resulted in red meat to 2.7 percent of cancers or about 8500 cases. And obesity was responsible for more than 5 percent of cancers, or approximately 18 thousand cases, including third cervical cancers. The lack of breastfeeding is responsible for 3.1 percent of cancers and 17 percent of ovarian cancers. The study did not include the expense of the number of cancer deaths that could have been avoided by following a healthy lifestyle.
