Few users of contact lenses, follow the instructions carefully
A recent study showed that most users of contact lenses, think they know the possible complications and believe that they follow all directions and care instructions recommended, but actually only few of them know and apply these instructions carefully.
The study included 281 patients who visited the center in the eye care and 152 patients went to the eye clinics. Many of the patients were able to Aaddoa complications of the use of contact lenses 58% of the general community and 91% of the auditors eye clinics.
The most common complications associated with lens comfort and disarmament and infections that occur.
Most patients know the risk factors associated with the use of contact lenses and their complications such as non-replacement contact lens solution and exposing the lenses to tap water, including wearing them while taking a shower in addition to poor hygiene.
Overall 85% of the disease believe they follow the recommended guidelines when dealing with contact lenses, but the researchers found that 50% of patients who use contact lenses reverting the instructions and assessment was good for the commitment to guidelines for 2% of patients.
The one patient (0.4%) committed to the use of contact lenses guidelines fully.
Because the problem is not lack of knowledge about complications of misuse of contact lenses, researchers explained that he must follow new strategies to deal with patients who are committed to guidelines and to obtain the best efficiency.
