Bacteria or virus
Need bacterial and viral infections to be treated differently even though both cause pain to the patient.

It is important to know that antibiotics can treat bacterial infections and not viral ones.

The following are some indicators of the nature of the infection and whether bacterial or viral:

o Do not continue to viral infection more than 10 days and had symptoms of bacterial infection for two weeks.

o symptoms similar to the coarse cough, sore throat and body pain are all associated with viruses.

o In adults have a sore throat accompanied by a rise in temperature often the result of a virus.

o persistent cough and high temperature colored nasal secretions and symptoms are often caused by bacteria, especially if it lasted more than two weeks.
